Phalaenopsis or Vanda orchids are often used for those, as they have medium-sized blooms and a huge variety of shapes and colors to choose from. Bridesmaids usually also have bouquets and maybe hair decorations in colors to match the wedding theme. The groom might have a boutonniere made with orchids to match his tuxedo. Checkered purple and white Vanda orchids can add a special effect to any bouquet.

Other brides prefer their bouquet to be made of multiple different types of flowers with delicate blooms, such as Singapore orchids. Some brides might want to have big blooms of a light color with brightly colored centers for a stunning effect. Several types of orchids can be used for the bridal bouquet. It all depends on the purpose of a particular flower arrangement within the weeding event. Wedding arrangements usually include other orchids, besides Cymbidiums and other types of flowers as well.

Cymbidiums are wilt-resistant, which means that they will look beautiful for the entire wedding ceremony and reception, just like the bride and groom. They can accentuate the bride and not rival her. Their colors are perfect for weddings: pink, white, yellow, and pale green. Cymbidiums are probably the most widely used wedding orchids.

Orchids are favorites at weddings because not only do they have stunning colors and shapes, some of them have delightful scents as well.
